About the event
El Silencio: Cycling the Peruvian Andes, a Jay Ritchey Film, is sponsored by Tumbleweed Bicycle Company. The films follows the journey of four cyclists riding the iconic Peru Divide route in South America.
About the cast:
Cass Gilbert has been wandering the world on his bicycle for the last 19 years, writing and snapping photos as he travels to help fund his adventures. During this time, he's run a successful guiding business in the Indian Himalaya, traversed the length of Asia and the Middle East, bikepacked his way around the American Southwest, and ridden dirt roads from Alaska to Patagonia. Catch up with his exploits on his instagram.
Daniel Molloy dreams up bike adventures and designs bikes and gear for them. As a bike mechanic and industry veteran for his entire adult life, Daniel is constantly tinkering with no-nonsense ways to make off-road bicycle travel more fun and inspire people to explore. He completed his first solo tour of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route in 2008, and has since completed trips in the Indian Himalayas, Patagonia, Mongolia and the Peruvian Andes. Jay Ritchey began making cycling films while working at Rivendell Bicycle Works in 2012. Since then he's been documenting bike tours and packs all his camera gear in custom bags that he designs himself. He films in a cinéma vérité style capturing much of the footage from his bicycle.
